Homeschool Assistant is committed to protecting the privacy of children who use our service. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which governs the online collection of personal information from children under 13 years of age.
Age Requirements
Users must be 13 years or older to create an account. Children under 13 can only use Homeschool Assistant through accounts created and managed by their parents or legal guardians.
Parental Consent & Control
Parents create and manage child profiles
Child profiles require parental authentication
Parents control all data collection and sharing
Children access the platform only through parent-created PINs
Information We Collect from Children
When parents create child profiles, they may provide:
Child's first and last name
Birth date (for age-appropriate content)
Grade level and learning preferences
Academic progress and achievements
We do NOT collect email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact information directly from children.
How Information is Used
Information about children is used solely to:
Provide personalized learning experiences
Track academic progress for parent review
Generate reports for homeschool compliance
Customize age-appropriate content and activities
Data Security & Retention
All data is encrypted and stored securely
Access is restricted to authorized parents only
We never share children's information with third parties
Parents can delete child profiles at any time
Inactive accounts are automatically removed after 180 days
Parental Rights
Parents have the right to:
Review information collected about their children
Request corrections to their children's information
Delete their children's profiles and all associated data
Refuse further collection or use of their children's information
